Q: I found a set of gorgeous cast iron mortars and a pestle. Try as I might I cannot get the seasoning to 'take.' They were in poor condition when we bought them so we used a wire brush to remove the rust and then went through the oil-and-heating seasoning method. They seemed fine until I used them for the first time. Any ideas?
