Ahhh the magic of white paint. Roxanne updated and brightened up her kitchen with some gorgeous new additions but kept the original cabinetry and used some really nice paint with great success.
From Roxanne: Our small builder grade kitchen was in desperate need of a makeover. I could no longer stand the orange tone wood cabinetry and yellowish countertops. To save money, we kept the existing cabinets, but extended them to the ceiling, making the room feel larger. We used cabinetry that we found at Habitat for Humanity to fill the area between the existing cabinets and the ceiling. We had the upper doors replaced with glass to further open up the room. We then painted everything white, to really brighten things up.
Our biggest splurges were on new quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Luckily, we have a family member who is a contractor and he helped us build a custom enclosure for around the new refrigerator. With only 8" of space left over between the refrigerator and the wall, we added a slide out pantry to maximize every inch of space.
